Obama Ignores Japan Crisis

There’s a crisis in Japan?  Really?

You’d never know it from the actions of the Obama administration.

Keep in mind that Japan has been one of America’s most loyal allies.  In addition to shared strategic interest, Japan holds a whopping $885.9 billion in United States Treasury debt.  Were it not for Japan, Obama could not have accomplished his brilliant legislative program.

You remember those programs.  The $800 billion “stimulus bill,” which was going to stimulate the economy.  The $22 billion homebuyer tax credit, which was going to stimulate the housing market.  Billions poured down the black holes at Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and AIG – paid to bailout Obama’s wealthy banker pals on Wall Street.

With Japan having financed all this, you would think the Obama administration might help that country that is reeling from the huge earthquake and tsunami.  If nothing, else, you’d think the so-called environmental president would be concerned by the nuclear emergency engulfing northern Japan.  Or that Obama would be moved by the human tragedy unfolding in northern Japan.

Not so much.

The best description of Obama’s response to Japan is blatant indifference.  The man just doesn’t seem to care – except that Japan might derail his own, poorly conceived nuclear power agenda.

Of course, our military has performed admirably, as they always do.  But that seems to be about the extent of Obama’s response.  Send a ship to Japan, and forget about it.

Many residents in Northern Japan are homeless, living in shelters.  With temperatures near zero, there is no electricity in most of the area.  No gas for cars.  Store shelves are bare.

In light of this humanitarian crisis, wouldn’t you be proud to see American planes airlifting supplies into Japan.  For heavens seek – take a few million dollars from the billons in stimulus pork, buy a bunch of blankets from Goodwill, and airlift them into Japan.  How hard is that?

Perhaps this hasn’t happened because – as best as I can tell – no one is coordinating the United States response to the Japanese crisis.  Within hours, CNN had reporters on the scene.  And the Obama administration?  If they have sent any administration official to Japan, they sure are keeping it secret.

How about our “historic” Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton?  She must be heavily involved in the Japan crisis?  Right?

Wrong.  Hillary is in Egypt.  Obama helped throw Hosni Mubarak under the bus.  Mubarak was another long-time American ally (see the theme here?).  So now Hillary is in Egypt, pandering to the radicals in the Muslim Brotherhood.

And the so-called “commander-in-chief” himself?  Obama was so upset by the Japanese crisis, he just had to spend all Saturday playing golf.  He got home just in time to run to the Gridiron Club, for a night of jokes with “journalists” and other Washington insiders.

On Friday, Obama will make his carbon footprint that much larger, with an all important trip to – Brazil, of all places.  You know, I wasn’t aware that there was an urgent crisis in Brazil. Precisely because there is no Brazilian crisis.

But you can’t expect the president to cancel this trip because of the Japanese nuclear crisis.

How could a little thing like that interfere with Obama’s spring break plans?

I couldn’t have said it better myself. This is unbelievable and I’m afraid it may be seen as unforgiveable, too. Something is not right. I just can’t believe he would ignore the nuclear reactor crisis like he has done. This is a terrifying situation. His actions strike me as being totally inappropriate.
