Following President Obama’s decision to pull American troops out of Iraq, Al Qaeda is attempting a comeback in that country.  The Washingtom Times reports:

“Al Qaeda in Iraq, the Osama bin Laden-inspired terrorist group that sank the country into sectarian violence five years ago, is trying to make a comeback in post-U.S.-occupied Iraq, analysts and intelligence officials say.

Washington is closely watching whether AQI, as it is called, in the next year can reassemble networks smashed by the U.S. counterterrorism campaign. American commandos and intelligence officers killed AQI leader Abu Musab Zarqawi in 2006 and then scores of other chieftains until, by 2011, the group was decimated.

But right after the last U.S. troops left Iraq in mid-December, the Sunni Muslim AQI claimed responsibility for a string of deadly attacks, primarily against Shiites, whose sect dominates Iraq’s government.  Last week, an AQI spokesman claimed that it had carried out multiple bombings that killed 55.

A U.S. official told The Washington Times that AQI is carrying out more attacks this year than it did in the second half of 2011, when the U.S. miliary was pulling out. But the increased violence does not mean AQI is back to its old strength, the official said.”

The Washgington Times story continues:

Sen. John McCain, Arizona Republican, who criticized President Obama for not negotiating a longer stay for U.S. troops, said AQI is quickly getting stronger.

“Violence is up significantly since the departure of U.S. troops,” said Mr. McCain, the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.  “Al Qaeda in Iraq and violent Shia extremist groups are still very much active and threatening to Iraq’s stability. It is increasingly difficult to argue that Iraq, to use the president’s words, is, quote, ‘stable and self-reliant.’ “

“Just consider the scale and scope of these risks,” the senator said. “Despite the remarkable damage inflicted on al-Qaeda’s core leadership by our military and intelligence professionals, al Qaeda officials – affiliates in Iraq, the Horn of Africa and the Maghreb – are growing stronger, more independent, more diffuse and more willing to attack American interests.”

Why would Obama take such a risk with American security?

Why isn’t the lamestream media investigating this story?

Could it have something to do with an election this fall?

Eric Holder’s Racism

By Prof Steinberg ~ March 6th, 2012 @ 8:16 pm No Comments »

John Fund describes a recent speech by Eric Holder at Columbia University in the National Review Online:

“Last month, in an appearance at Columbia University, his alma mater, Holder made a jarring statement in support of racial preferences, saying he “can’t actually imagine a time in which the need for more diversity would ever cease.” “Affirmative action has been an issue since segregation practices,” he declared. “The question is not when does it end, but when does it begin. . . . When do people of color truly get the benefits to which they are entitled?”

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/292684/infinite-affirmative-action-john-fund?pg=1

It’s hardly suprising to hear this from Holder.  After all, we all know he got the job of Attorney General solely based on merit.  We know that his race had nothing to do with it.  You believe that — right?

But Mr. Holder — precisely what are these “benefits” that “people of color” are “entitled” to.

Eric Holder is supposed to be chief law enforcement officer for the United States.  I’d like to ask Mr. Holder the following legal question:

What if the government took everything I’ve earned in my lifetime, and gave it to someone who was black?

Mr. Holder, is that your idea of “justice”?

More Liberal Hypocrisy: The So-Called “Respect” For Women

By Prof Steinberg ~ March 5th, 2012 @ 9:36 pm No Comments »
English: Sarah Palin speaking at a rally in El...

Image via Wikipedia

The Lamestream media and Democratic politicians just can’t stop replaying that unfortunate, nasty remark  by Rush Limbaugh, who inapproriately described pro-contraception advocate Sandra Fluke as a “slut.”  Limbaugh’s apology has been ignored, in a frenzied attempt to demonize the radio  host.  The Left has attempted to use this as a moment to contrast conservatives’ crude intolerance toward women with the respect and tolerance shown to women by Democrats and other leftists.

Not so fast — writes L. Brent Bozell at Fox News.com.  http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/03/05/rush-to-censor-limbaugh/print

Remember the liberal protests when Ed Schultz called conservative broadcaster Laura Ingraham a “slut” on Schultz’s own far left radio show — the exact same word uttered by Limbaugh?  Remember the huge protest that women’s groups staged in favor of Ingraham?

Of course you don’t.  There were no such protests.

Bozell continues:  “Fellow talk show host Mike Malloy hoped Sarah Palin ’drives herself into madness’ and insisted Michele Bachmann is an ‘evil bitch from Hell’ who would have gladly supervised the  Holocaust.  Montel Williams rooted on Air America for Bachmann to slit her own wrist or  throat.”

What a bunch of wonderful, tolerant guys!

Protests from the liberal establishment and the lamestream media?  Nope.  Not one word.  Why didn’t the “respectful,” “compassionate,” and — above all — tolerant liberals come to the aid of Ingraham, Palin, and Bachmann?

The reason — In the liberal mindset, women  must embrace the “correct” ideology.  They must embrace the liberal tenets of wealth redistribution, big government, affirmative action and — above all else — abortion on demand.  Strong women who reject these views aren’t just political adversaries.  They are airheads, or Nazis, or bimbos.

Above all else, they are traitors.

Within leftist politics, women are deserving only if they follow the scripted party line.  Sandra Fluke is a deserving woman.  Ingraham, Palin, and Bachmann aren’t.

Such is the Democratic Party’s version of “tolerance.”

Who Cares About Sandra Fluke?

By Prof Steinberg ~ March 4th, 2012 @ 10:18 pm No Comments »
Ok, so now we know about Sandra Fluke.  She’s  not a wide-eyed, 23 year old law student.  Rather, she is a 30-year-old feminist who has spent het life working in jobs funded by the radical left.  Fluke attended Georgetown Law School (and not the other 180 or so law schools) precisely because she wanted to challenge the univeristy’s decision not to pay for women’s  contraception.  See http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/post/meet-sandra-fluke-the-woman-you-didnt-hear-at-congress-contraceptives-hearing/2012/02/16/gIQAJh57HR_blog.html  http://www.jammiewf.com/2012/sandra-flukes-appearance-is-no-fluke/
Fluke seems entirely unqualified to testify about women’s health issues.  As best as anyone can tell, she has no medical training, and no experience with women’s reproductive health — other than serving as President of a Georgetown Law School student group.
So what was the point of Nancy Pelosi’s show trial featuring Fluke?
It was a distraction.  The Democrats want to get people’s minds off of the abject failure that is the Obama Presidency — aided and abetted by Pelosi and the other radial Democrats.
And it worked.  Sadly, some conservatives (including Rush Limbaugh) took the bait — hook, line, and sinker.  And this allowed Obama and Pelosi to write the scripted ending — with a big assist to the Lamestream Meda.  See how wonderful and compassionate Democrats are?  Just look at those mean and heartless conservatives!  Who would vote for them?
Well, I’m not interested in Sandra Fluke.  Her scripted show trial isn’t going to effect my life.  And it won’t affect you either.
Here’s what I want to talk about:
1)  Record high oil prices
2)  How Obama is the first President to run a $5 TRILLION deficit in 4 years.
3)  An official unemployment rate that remains stuck above 8 PERCENT (the real “unofficial” rate is far higher)
4)  The BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars that Obama has paid to his cronies as blatant kickbacks.
5)  Job, jobs, jobs!
And so on.
Conservatives, we need to focus!   We need to make Obama defend his record — because he can’t.  That’s what matters.
Sandra Fluke doesn’t matter.
